Army Sgt 1st Class David Nunez, 27, of Los Angeles CA died May 29 in Shewan, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when he encountered small-arms fire while conducting combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, N.C.
